A message from the Chairman, Mark Barrow

As we reach the end of a short but nonetheless very enjoyable cricket season, I’d like to update you about the club going into the winter, particularly in the context of the CoVid-19 pandemic.

Firstly, I am sorry to inform that we have now had a confirmed case of CoVid connected to the club. One person, who was completely asymptomatic, has tested positive. Rest assured, their close contacts have been contacted and are now isolating. This has of course brought the current pandemic into even sharper focus for us at the Avorians.

In order to keep the club open this winter, I wanted to set out the rules under which we will be operating:

1. You must check in using the check-in system whenever you attend the club. This is a mandatory rule now – a condition of us staying open.
2. You must respect the rule of 6. No more than 6 people, including children, together in any group setting. The clubhouse has been set out with tables of 6 (or less), suitably distanced, so please respect the new layout.
3. You must wear a mask when not seated at your table.
4. We will be running a table service whilst open.
5. The bar will be closed at 10pm prompt.
6. You must not attend the Club at any time if you are suffering from any symptoms of CoVid (check the NHS website for latest guidelines).

If we all stick to the rules above, our clubhouse is, and can remain, a very safe environment in which to socialise.

Subject to your ongoing support, we will endeavour to open the bar every Friday evening, and will post the latest updates and opening times on the club’s website and social media during the preceding week, so please keep an eye out.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me on
feedback2020@avorianscc.co.uk and I look forward very much to seeing you at the club one Friday evening!

Mark Barrow
Chairman
